　ドラマーの失踪、ベーシストの渡米、3ピースバンドの両腕をもがれても尚、圧倒的な力でバンドを進めてきたvo.guのタナカカイタが、数多のサポートメンバーを迎えた別名義での活動を続け、そして終えた今、真のメンバーとなり辿り着いた極地『悪夢に笑え！』 worst taste 10年ぶりの大作4th albumの完成である。

　本作は10年間の恨みつらみ、怨念、感傷、人生が渦を巻いているが、それさえもユーモアに変えてしまうポップネスを持った、唯一無二、東京屈指の最高峰オルタナティブバンドの傑作である

　バキバキのパンクを基調にサーフミュージック、ポストパンク、アートロックのエキセントリックな要素を混ぜ合わせた独自のサウンドで、2000年代初頭から東京オルタナティブシーンの重要バンドであり続けて来たworst taste。ライブハウスに不可欠の存在であるだけでなく、2009年には企画集団「東京BOREDOM」の発起に参加し、以来日本の地下音楽の活性化を支えている担い手でもある。

　『悪夢に笑え！』は、2012年の『逃避行は終わらない』から10年ぶりとなるフルアルバム。近藤祥昭（GOK Sound）をエンジニアに迎えて完全アナログ録音され、ヒリヒリしたバンドのエネルギーを小細工なしに刻み込んだ作品となっている。

　福岡のオオクボ-Tによるアートワークも本作の魅力。鮮やかでアナーキーなデザインは、worst tasteのブチ切れたサウンドの強度をそのままに伝えている。

A distinctive and eccentric voice in the 21st century Tokyo alternative scene, Worst Taste’s journey over the past ten years has been a strange one. With the departure of their old drummer and bassist Kojima moving to the USA for a period, guitarist/vocalist Kaita Tanaka kept pushing the band forward with the assistance of a variety of collaborators under the name Worst Taste & Special Magic before the band came back together as a trio. Back as simply Worst Taste once more, they seal this return to their roots with “Akumu ni Warae!” (“Laugh at the Nightmare!”) — the band’s fourth album and first in ten years.

The analogue recording by Yoshiaki Kondoh at legendary studio GOK Sound captures the fizzing, natural energy of the band, and their unique sound that trips between elements of surf rock, post-punk, art rock and raw, rock’n’roll thrills.
